Batting grip and stance Dehradun Cricket Academy https://dehraduncricketacademy.com/learn/batting-grip-and-stance/ A batting setup should let you see the delivery, stay balanced and move in either direction. Use grip and stance as a starting position that supports the shot you choose. Check the bat face Hold the bat comfortably and inspect where the face points. Ask your coach to check whether your hands let the face return towards the ball without a last-moment correction. Find a balanced base Settle with your weight supported between your feet. Your stance need not copy a famous player: you should be able to move forward or back without first untangling your feet. See the release Face the bowler so both eyes can track the delivery. Compare your starting position with the moment of release; a comfortable setup matters only if you remain ready as the ball arrives. For a setup check, compare two comfortable stance widths using the same gentle feed. Write down which lets you move and make controlled contact. A better-looking photograph is not the goal; the useful result is a position you can repeat when you face a delivery.
